It may be ugly, but the Ugly Coconut Egg Tart sure is yummy — just like our fathers who may have a hardy exterior but a soft side. It sees shredded coconut infused with fragrant gula melaka, which is then encased in a smooth egg custard. The tart is not cloyingly sweet and is enjoyable even for dads who do not have a sweet tooth.
